Traditional talk therapies focus on our thoughts but the human experience is so much more than that. Our bodies also hold memories and stories of our lives. Anxiety, for example, may include overthinking or intrusive thoughts, but it is often accompanied by a racing heart, chest tightness, dizziness, or nausea. This is the mind-body connection at work! I utilize therapies, including Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, and Internal Family System, which are founded not just in the mind-body connection, but in the most current neuroscience. In a safe, compassionate, and supportive space, these approaches will help you heal at a cellular level and will help to the sense of safety, balance, peace, and happiness that you deserve.
